"What bitcoin has done in the last six months relative to the previous three years is transformational," he said. Trump cited the convergence of record ETF launches, major corporate treasuries, and banks like Charles Schwab and Morgan Stanley now offering bitcoin exposure to clients — including bitcoin-backed mortgages — as proof that Wall Street has fully changed its stance. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas noted that bitcoin ETFs have become among the most successful product launches in the instrument's history. Trump also disclosed that the U.S. government holds 300,000 BTC and has no plans to sell, and that American Bitcoin is mining and holding every coin it produces. Three dissenters wanted the easing bias stripped from the statement — a warning shot to incoming chair Kevin Warsh about the committee's appetite for cuts. One member wanted an immediate 25bps cut. Powell confirmed he will remain on the Fed board after his chairmanship ends May 15, citing unresolved DOJ legal threats. "The things that have happened really in the last three months have left me no choice but to stay until I see them through," he said.
