That said, nothing is confirmed. The Fed has now priced out all rate cuts for 2026, a sharp reversal from earlier expectations, while Bhutan appears to be selling $30 million worth of BTC. Despite these headwinds, BTC continues to hold above $70,000 — and a market that refuses to fall on bad news is often setting up for a move higher. Read more → Policy   Story 2 of 3 Clarity Act's stablecoin yield language sends Circle stock down 20% Circle (CRCL) posted its worst single day on record Tuesday after a leaked draft of the Clarity Act revealed language that would ban stablecoin yield payments on passive balances — prohibiting anything "economically equivalent to interest." Coinbase dropped roughly 10% in sympathy, given its revenue-sharing relationship with USDC. The sell-off came just as Tether announced it has hired a Big Four firm for a full audit of its USDT reserves — a move that could strengthen its position relative to Circle if the legislation passes in its current form. Circle shares had been up 170% since early February before Tuesday's collapse. More striking was his framing of AI as crypto's defining long-term force: "AI agents are very unlikely to use Fedwire and SWIFT," he said. "Crypto is computer-native money… AI is computer-native data and intelligence. There's a natural symbiosis there."
